Carpenter Ants Galore!

Carpenter Ants are one of the largest species among the ants. They are polymorphic workers which just means that in one colony their size can vary. When fully grown they range in size from 6-12 mm in length. Carpenter ants do not eat wood like Termites do. They take parts of the wood and move it outside of their nests in small wood piles. They live in damp areas of wood or even moldy wood.  They live off of eating wood, sweets of any kind and nectar from plants.  Since they feed off of wood that can cause massive damage to your homes structure. Damage is done when they tunnel through the wood. The damage they are able to cause can be very pricey to fix.  The key to help control the population of these ants is elimination of or the repair to wet wood around the structure of your home or business. You must also destruct their nest by treating.
